A new home
I know this is my third post today, but today was my first "all good" day in Chicago. Tonight's church service was amazing. Heidi and I went to the Humboldt Park United Methodist Church. We were warmly greeted by everyone and it really felt like home. The services are mostly in Spanish, but the Pastor translated to English just for us tonight. I am so happy that we have a place to feel welcome and safe in this new neighborhood.

Hey Eliza, glad to hear things are finally starting to go well for you! Once you get the hang of transit and find a couple places you can be a regular, everything becomes much more comfortable.
I hope things are moving forward on your internship, too. Hopefully you'll get something amazing that you're really interested in, and that will only help you feel more at home.
And remember, if you ever feel like you're being bullied by any of those women, I'd be more than happy to call them and stick up for you!
Thanks for the encouragement, Becki! I still haven't heard anything on my internship yet, but I'm going to try to be patient. :) Hope you're having a good semester so far.
